Privacy policy
The short version: your quiz answers stay in your browser, we don't sell them, and we collect as little as we can. Ads on the site come from Google, which uses cookies.
Your quiz answers
Your answers, results and skills are saved in your browser's local storage so you can pause and come back. They are not sent to our servers. You can delete them by retaking the quiz or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Information collected automatically
- Hosting logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Page analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular, along with general information such as country, browser, device type and referring site. It doesn't use cookies or identify you across sites or visits.
- Outbound link clicks. When you click a resource link, we record which resource, which of our pages you clicked from and when. We don't link this to your identity.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure results. Google's use of this data is described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalized ads at My Ad Center, and learn about opting out of other vendors at aboutads.info. Where required (for example, in the EU and UK), we ask for your consent first.
Cookies
We don't set cookies ourselves, and our analytics don't use them. Our advertising partners do, as described above. When you follow a link to another site, including affiliate partners, that site may set its own cookies, for example to credit us with a referral. Their privacy policies apply there. We don't collect email addresses yet. If we add that, we'll update this policy first, ask for your consent, and include an unsubscribe link in every email.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell or rent your quiz answers or contact details. The advertising cookies described above may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising under some US state laws. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. To opt out, use the privacy choices shown on the site where available, turn off personalized ads at My Ad Center, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. You can also contact us with any request and we'll respond within the time required by law.
Children
Sidequest Biz is intended for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
